NEW DELHI: The online registration for Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET)-UG and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] 2022 commences from Wednesday night and will continue till May 6, 2022. As first reported by the TOI, NEET will be conducted on July 17, while CUET will be held in the first or second week of July, the dates for which will be announced soon on the National Testing Agency’s website www.nta.ac.in.
Announcing the dates for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions in India, NTA stated that the entrance test shall consist of 200 multiple choice questions (four options with a single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). 50 questions in each subject will be divided into two Sections (A and B). The duration of the Examination will be three hours 20 minutes from 2 pm and shall be uniform for all candidates. The test will be conducted in 13 languages, which include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The pen-paper mode test will be conducted in approximately 543 cities in India and 14 cities outside India, which include Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Dubai and Singapore, among others.
Stating that candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified, NTA stated that aspirants “must ensure that the e-mail address and mobile number provided in the online application form are their own or parents/ guardians only as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.”
The much awaited registration for CUET (UG) 2022 also started on Wednesday. While inviting online applications for admission to the undergraduate courses in central universities for the academic year 2022-23, NTA in its notification stated that “CUET (UG) 2022 will provide a single window opportunity to students seeking admission in the Central Universities (CUs) across the country for various Undergraduate Programmers.”
According to a senior NTA official, the Agency is mapping all the participating universities and all the programmers and their eligibility conditions will also be available in the NTA’s website. “While candidates can also visit the websites and read the information bulletin of individual universities, NTA has also listed the participating universities and their eligibility conditions for each of the programmers on offer. The aspirants while registering online therefore can look up at these universities, their programmers and the eligibility they need to satisfy and choose the sections/ language/ domain subjects/ others they need to appear in the CUET,” said the official.
“CUET (UG) 2022 is a bouquet of tests in various Languages, domain subjects and general tests. Candidates can select any one or more of the tests offered under CUET (UG) 2022, as per the requirements of the University where admission is sought.” The notification reads.
The CUET-2022 too will be conducted in 13 languages, i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. The computer-based multiple session test will be conducted in 547 cities within India and in 13 cities outside India, which include Jakarta, Lagos/Abuja, Kuala Lamour and Colombo, among others.
While the notification has not mentioned the specific dates for the CUET, it stated that the tests will be conducted in the first or second week of July 2022 and the exams will be held in two slots – Slot I which is of three hours and 15 minutes and Slot II of three hours and 45 minutes. According to NTA sources, a candidate will appear only in one slot in a given day and the subsequent slot in another day.
NEET-UG 2022: Important Instructions
1) Candidates can apply for NEET (UG) – 2022 through the “Online” mode only through the website https://neet.nta.nic.in/
2) Submission of the Online Application Form may be done by accessing the NTA website https://neet.nta.nic.in/ The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
3) Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
4) Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
5) Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or Parents/Guardians only as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.
